The hyle series is a continuously growing forest of organic machines. Esser uses the technique of automatic sculpting, sculpting without a specific result in mind, instead reacting to the material and letting shapes and forms emerge from this process. Esser combines this with electronics to envoke a form of electronic animism, an electronic deity residing in the object.
